This microcredential is designed for nurses working in acute care, community and paediatric settings. The content revises the pathophysiology of diabetes and, using case studies, focuses on diabetic conditions and management. This microcredential will examine the nurse’s role and aspects of diabetes health promotion that influence people’s lives with diabetes. It encourages using current literature and best practice models to evaluate current clinical practice critically. This microcredential also explores the dimensions of professional nursing practice, including individualised, research-based, interprofessional, and ethical-based capabilities. Students will gain an understanding of the professional considerations and broader global issues that influence Australian nursing practice and healthcare delivery for the provision of culturally safe, quality care.
