Wound care is a key component of safe, person-centred healthcare. Whether a wound is acute, chronic, simple or complex, effective management begins with a thorough assessment of the person, the wound and any factors that may influence healing.

This Ausmed Training Module discusses the core knowledge and skills needed to support safe, evidence-based wound care, including wound assessment frameworks, common wound tissue types, acute and chronic wound management, wound care, dressing regimes and factors that support wound healing. This module supports learners in understanding how a structured approach to wound care can be applied within their scope of practice.

Note: This module is not a substitute for formal training or a competency assessment, which should be delivered by an appropriately qualified health practitioner.
