Michelle Hogan

Biography

Michelle Hogan is a Registered Nurse and Credentialled Diabetes Educator and has extensive experience across both residential and home aged care services in clinical care, clinical management, education, quality, governance and research. Michelle is the Director of the Clinical Unit at the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission and holds an Associate Degree in Dementia Care, the University of SA’s Certificate in Practice Education and has completed her Master of Nursing - Diabetes Education and Management in 2022 and was awarded the James and Jessie Brown Memorial Prizes in Aged Care and Gerontology. Michelle is a casual academic for Flinders University’s postgraduate Primary Health Care and Diabetes streams and an previously an Associate Lecturer at the University of SA. Michelle sits on a number of advisory committees and is a practitioner member of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of South Australia. She has published and co-authored extensively in relation to the care of an older person, including diabetes, skin assessment, continence, quality use of medicines in aged care, oral health care and the lived experience of older people living with dementia.
