This Bloodsafe eLearning Australia course will help you apply blood management strategies to the care of patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD).

This course is designed for healthcare professionals – primarily nurses and doctors – caring for patients with chronic kidney disease.

On completion of this course you will be able to:
  • outline the significance of anaemia in this patient population and the - approach to clinical assessment and management
  • describe the types of bleeding exhibited in the CKD patient and how this may be prevented and managed
  • assess when transfusion may be indicated in the CKD patient whilst recognising the specific risks
