Are you or someone you know transforming Australia’s health and aged care systems through leadership and innovation? The Health Minister’s Award for Nursing Trailblazers is Australia’s only national award recognising the extraordinary impact of nurses who drive meaningful change in healthcare.

Why Nominate?

This prestigious award highlights the ingenuity of nurses who:

  • Improve the quality of care and patient outcomes
  • Enhance community health and well-being
  • Expand access to treatment and care for all Australians
  • Develop innovative, evidence-based approaches to healthcare

Since its launch in 2019, the Trailblazers Award has provided a national platform to showcase the contributions of exceptional nurse leaders. Past winners and finalists have led initiatives such as:

  • Advancing evidence-based stroke care
  • Integrating palliative care into aged care facilities
  • Implementing nurse-led models to enhance cancer care
