A clinician should suspect sepsis in all patients with acute illness or deterioration who may have an infection. In this lecture, clinical educator Joanne Reading provides an overview of the tools used to recognise sepsis, as well as the management of sepsis in accordance with the Surviving Sepsis Campaign guidelines.
