Course Overview

Pressure injuries come in various stages and in multiple locations on the body but most are preventable. All healthcare workers can play a role in preventing the harm and cost associated with pressure injuries.

Learning Outcomes
  • Apply knowledge of pathophysiology and risk factors in relation to the prevention and management of pressure injuries.
  • Assess the stages of a pressure injury appropriately and document to allow for the best-practice management and monitoring to occur.
  • Be more confident in the selection of equipment and dressings to successfully manage a pressure injury and avoid placing a patient at further risk.
