CPDTime.

By ensuring that all people involved in a resident’s care are informed about the resident’s condition, needs, goals and preferences, the workforce will be able to coordinate their care in a way that improves outcomes for all parties involved. This requires sound internal communication processes.

What is this article about?

Effective communication and information management within an aged care organisation mean that residents only need to tell their stories once instead of repeating themselves to each staff member they interact with. By ensuring that all people involved in a resident’s care are informed about the resident’s condition, needs, goals and preferences, the workforce will be able to coordinate their care in a way that improves outcomes for all parties involved.

Good communication makes residents feel valued, cared for and puts them at ease. Effective communication not only improves care services but also creates a better working environment for carers as it creates more transparency and openness related to daily tasks and requirements.

There are so many different subjects on Ausmed! I thought it'd be hard to find the resources I need for complicated procedures or rarer conditions, but they've had everything I've looked for so far.
