What is Commercial Bias?

Commercial bias is considered to be present in any commercial interest organisations or individual. The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) of which Ausmed Education’s Learning Centre is accredited by, describes commercial interest organisations as an organisation that:

  • ‘Produces, markets sells or distributes healthcare goods or services consumed by or used on patients;
  • Is owned or operated, in whole or in part, by an organisation that produces, markets, sells or distributes healthcare goods or services consumed by or used on patients; or
  • Advocates for use of the products or services of commercial interest organisations.’

(2016)

In the interest of full content integrity, any organisation or individual provider considered by Ausmed to be holding significant commercial interests as above, will not be considered for Content Partnership.
